ALTO, Mich. (WZZM)- Children often sell lemonade in their neighborhoods. But there have been stories about local governments around the country shutting down children's stands because they don't have a business or health permit.
Syndicated radio host Glenn Beck decided enough was enough and asked his fans to mark today as National Lemonade Stand and Bake Sale Hug-a-thon Day.
Alto teenager Rob Rodgers set up his own stand today to show his support for children who want to sell lemonade.
"You learn how to manage money and make money. Entrepreneurship, as you said earlier. It's a good life lesson to learn," said Rodgers.
The teenager was giving the proceeds from his sale to the Helen DeVos Children's Hospital and Glenn Beck's Mercury One organization.
