(WZZM) -- A new Consumer Reports investigation finds many appliance fires are caused by the products themselves.
The appliances that caused the most fires were ranges, followed by dryers, air conditioners, refrigerators and dishwashers.
The magazine says only about half of all appliance fires can be blamed on human error.
Consumer Reports says appliance design has become more complex, and many of the recalled products are manufactured in China.
