Possible Severe Weather
Monday was a warm and humid day across West Michigan with afternoon severe thunderstorms producing large hail north of Grand Rapids. Heavy downpours also flooded city streets. Temperatures soared into the mid 80s to around 90° with dewpoints in the 60s.
Monday night, after midnight, a round of strong thunderstorms will move up from the southwest. Temperatures will slip into the mid 60s to around 70° with dewpoints in the 60s. Winds will be south at 4-8 mph. Lake Michigan forecast: Winds: S 8-16 kts. Waves: 0-1'.
Tuesday will be partly cloudy, very warm and humid with more afternoon thunderstorms. According to the Storm Prediction Center (SPC) there is a Slight Risk of severe storms, with large hail and damaging winds the primary threats. Temperatures will be in the mid 80s inland and upper 70s to low 80s
