(WZZM) - Heart disease remains the leading cause of death for women, in part because symptoms of a heart attack are very different for women.  It could be as simple as back pain or fatigue.

So to bring awareness to that fact, we introduce you to three survivors in a very special way, through a Go Red fashion show sponsored by Macy's.

They are also working with the American Heart Association to bring awareness to women and heart health.

Our survivors are Nichole Wrona, Doctor Nicole Tilton and Sharon Buursma.  Click on the video link to hear their stories.

Friday, February 24th, the American Heart Association here in West Michigan will hold a Go Red for Women luncheon.

It will happen at Noto's Old World Dining on 28th Street in Grand Rapids.  Tickets are required and still available.  For more information, call (616) 482-1512.
