MUSKEGON, Mich. (WZZM) - A parolee is in police custody in connection to two late-night stabbings at a Muskegon bar.

Witnesses say the attack at Old Clover Bar was unprovoked. When police arrived around 11:30 p.m., they found a 54-year-old Norton Shores woman and a 58-year-old Muskegon man had both been slashed in the neck.

Witnesses say customers and bartenders grabbed towels to help the woman until paramedics arrived.  Muskegon County Assistant Prosecutor Timothy Maat says the woman suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken into surgery late Thursday night.  So far there is no update on her condition. The male victim was also taken to the hospital, where his condition is unclear.

The suspect, Kyle Gregory Stone, 23, of Fruitport Township, was arrested by police only blocks away from the scene.  He's charged with two counts of assault with intent to murder and a second offense of being a habitual offender.

Anyone with further information in this case is asked to call Muskegon Police at (231) 846-8477 or Silent Observer at (231) 722-7463.
