MUSKEGON, Mich. UPDATE - (WZZM) - Douglas Fitzgibbon has been charged in the assault on a woman in Muskegon.

We'll have more details when they become available.

MUSKEGON, Mich. (WZZM) - A man is in custody for attacking a good Samaritan. The Muskegon County Prosecutor says a man lured a woman into his Bourdon Street home by telling her his grandmother had fallen and needed help.

When the woman went inside, the man forced her into his basement, where he choked her with an electrical cord and punched her in the face. The victim eventually escaped and ran to a neighbor's house for help.

Police arrested the man at a different home a short time later.

This is the second good Samaritan attack in Muskegon in about a week. On July 23, a woman was stabbed in the arm while trying to help a man whose vehicle broke down. Both victims are recovering.
