UPDATE (6:00 P.M. SATURDAY)-- Organizers estimate more than 400 people took part in Saturday's 5k run.
WALKER, Mich. (WZZM)- More than 200 people have registered to participate in the Walker Remembrance Run in memory of fallen officer Trevor P. Slot.
He was killed by a vehicle driven by two bank robbers back in October 2011.
Saturday's run starts at the Walker Ice and Fitness Center and goes down to Walker Village Drive and then back to the fitness center around the back of City Central Park.
Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. and the race begins at 9:30 a.m. For details, click HERE.
The Walker Festival runs from 9 a.m.- 11:30 p.m. Wristbands available to anyone three years and older for $5.00 to enjoy unlimited activities.
At 3 p.m., Scoops Ice Cream Shoppe will host its first ice cream eating competition.
