GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM)-- Whether you shave your head to beat the heat, or tackle a receding hairline, the Head Blade is supposed to be the revolutionary way to shave your head. Its unique design looks like a car that fits in the palm of your hand for better control.
A while back, I met several football coaches at West Catholic High School in Grand Rapids who all seemed to sport the shaved head look. So, Jerud Jackson, one of the assistant coaches, agreed to try the Head Blade for us and see if it was better than using a standard razor or clippers.
Jerud is used to using clippers that leave a bit of hair, but using the Head Blade for the first time, he agreed to shave it clean.
The informational video you find online says if you're shaving your head clean for the first time, you should shave "with" the grain. That gave patchy results, so Jerud got much better results going "against" the grain.
Jerud thought it was comfortable to use. In fact, using it had the same motion as combing your hair. It's recommended you rinse the Head Blade often, so using it in the shower would probably be best.
Jerud did get some nicks from the Head Blade, but he thought maybe he needed to get use to it, or use it in the shower for better results.
Now, admittedly Jerud said he'd stick with a standard razor, because it's what he's used to, but other guys who aren't happy with their current method, might want to give the Head Blade a spin.
